Meanwhile, Jill Goldman, a certified animal behavior specialist, told National Geographic that it is possible that the first instinct of cats is to assume that cucumber is a snake, which can be a deadly predator. And when you think about it, since you can not find a cucumber or similar object on the ground, and the cat has not seen or heard the cucumber approach, it's not an unreasonable assumption.
